In many regions around the globe, secondary school enrollment rates remain low, and dropout rates are high. For those who do graduate, the quality of education and learning outcomes often fail to equip them with the skills needed to succeed in higher education or secure meaningful employment. As a result, millions of young people are unable to realize their full potential, perpetuating cycles of poverty, inequality, and economic stagnation.

Since 2018, A Child’s Notebook has been committed to expanding access to secondary and higher education for youth in rural Laos. We eliminate financial barriers by providing scholarships for secondary and vocational students, enhance learning outcomes through afterschool enrichment programs, and improve educational infrastructure by building schools, dormitories, and latrine facilities. With a strong emphasis on gender equality, at least half of all scholarships are reserved for girls. At the heart of our work is a deep respect for the local communities we partner with, ensuring our programs are rooted in collaboration and cultural understanding.
