Kenya Education Fund

Kenya

Kenya Education Fund was started by former Peace Corps Volunteer Bradley Broder and local community leader Dominic Muasya to keep young people in high school when their means did not allow.

Kenya Education Fund (KEF) provides scholarships to students in Kenya based on need and merit. The process starts in Grade 9, before students sit for their national exams. Each year, they distribute over 4,400 applications across all 47 counties in Kenya. KEF's U.S.-based Application Review Committee carefully reviews and shortlists the applications. Shortlisted students are then invited to attend in-person interviews at various locations nationwide, ensuring accessibility for all.

Through its programs, KEF has empowered over 4,600 children who are now positively impacting their communities. Today, 620 students rely on KEF scholarships to stay in school and they are equipped with essential skills for success.
