Libraries Without Borders (LWB) is an international non-government organization whose mission is to expand access to information for vulnerable communities. By creating and reinforcing libraries, training librarians, distributing books, supporting local publishing, and designing library networks, Libraries Without Borders actively promotes access to knowledge in more than 20 countries.

Growing from our work in Haiti before and after the earthquake in 2010, LWB has worked in developing countries and refugee camps to improve the efficacy of book donations, to build stronger collaborations between different actors in the international development and humanitarian sectors, to advocate for public policies that expand access to reliable information, and to innovate new tools and programs that support the creation of context-customized and sustainable public spaces.

Our work in France and the United States focuses on supporting immigrant and low-income individuals and communities with access to reliable information and high-quality informal education opportunities.
