GCE-US team with AMP Global Scholars at InterAction in Washington, DC.

On July 25, 2023, members of the Global Campaign for Education-US (GCE-US) team based in Washington, D.C. met with the AMP Global Scholars, a group of global students dedicated to making the world a better place and becoming the next generation of global citizens. Through the Global Scholar program, students participate in interactive workshops, seminars, small-group activities, and engaging assignments and projects to learn how to apply their knowledge and skills to make a real-life impact. We are grateful to Erin Marsland with InterAction for hosting the seminar and providing wonderful information about InterAction’s work.

Students participating in the AMP Global Scholars summer session met with Jennifer Rigg (Executive Director), Maha Shoaib (Graduate Fellow), and Dana Marion (Student Fellow) to learn more about the work of GCE-US and ways we can all advocate and promote education as a human right domestically and internationally. There was fruitful discussion about the importance of universal, quality, inclusive education, and the relationship between education and the rest of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants shared their educational experiences, passions, interests, and advocacy, relating them to the work of GCE, global education, and human rights movements.

The AMP Global Scholars is an incredible group of young leaders, and GCE-US is incredibly thankful for the opportunity to share our work and amplify the voices of young people!
